Near Haldrup about 12km outside of Horsens we found the beautiful and well hidden Den Kreative Have. We cycled uphill to find this beautiful location (there aren’t many hills in the area!). The lanes on the way have some stunning views across the fjord.
We reached the gardens at the top, they are well signposted. To enter there is a small honesty box in which to place your money, you step through the gate and are suddenly wowed as you step into a Japanese garden in the middle of the Danish countryside.
The gardens are created in the 1990’s by the owners who have developed them since, gradually adding more details. The area has an air of tranquillity and is very peaceful. You can hear the sound of running water throughout the garden from the many streams which twist around the site.
There are many splashes of colour in the greenery which add to the draw of the gardens.
We enjoyed the many benches, chairs and pagodas spread around the garden where you could sit quietly and enjoy the peace. 
There are numerous interesting ornaments around the gardens which add to the oriental feel and the appeal.
